Q: Can VisualResponse check the response time of more than one URL?
Q: How do I update a web page to be monitored by VisualResponse?A: VisualResponse allows you to monitor as many URLs as the license allows. For example a 10 URL license will allow you to monitor 10 different web page URLs. Note even if a web page has the same name on more than one server they are counted separately.
Q: Can VisualResponse monitor HTTPS and HTTP?A: The best way to do this is to refer to Section 12 of the manual which provides an example and a brief description.
Q: I just installed VisualResponse. When I go to the Web Interface and select one of the reports (Last Hour, Last 24 Hours, or Last 30 Days), why do I get a "...page cannot be found" error?A: Yes, The best way to understand this is to refer to Section 12 of the manual which provides an examples and a brief description.
Q: When starting the VisualResponse server I get the exception: "Address in use (port 80)" Can I use another port?A: To facilitate rapid information access, VisualResponse actually stores these three reports, each as a separate HTML page, in the "www" subdirectory of the main VisualResponse application folder. These pages are regenerated "in the background" at regular intervals that coincide with the archiving of latency and packet loss information to historical log files. When you first start running VisualResponse, these pages are not present because the application has not yet reached the first log interval and subsequently there is no historical data to report. Wait a few minutes and try again.
Q: If I've forgotten my password, how I can get into the system, and is it possible for me to change it?A: If you are using a Visualware server product, or another application, that has its port pointing to 80 (the default http port), please change the port within VisualResponse to another port that you have available, i.e. 8001, 8080.
Q: How do I configure VisualResponse on my machine?A: There is no way to find out the current password (this is a security feature). It is a 'one-way' function. To start over, delete the \windows\java\dsc\vip\startup.ini file.
Q: What if I need support?A: Start up VisualResponse and under the option file choose Preferences. Configure the following:
Port 80 (or an alternative port) Max Users: 5
Access Control - Full
CIDR - 0.0.0.0/0Then click on Add List. Exit the dialog, and press start.
At the top of the Box you should see VisualResponse Server [ Your machine name ]. To connect to VisualResponse from a browser, the machine name is indicated above in the URL box. This will take you into the VisualResponse Home page.
A: Simply submit a Support Request and we will be pleased to help you implement VisualResponse or answer any questions you may have.
